After more than a decade of experience as a structural engineer, Raj founded Green Valley Custom Builders in 2013 with a focus on designing and constructing high-end luxury homes in Northern Virginia. His goal is to leverage his structural design expertise to ensure that every home he builds is not only beautifully designed and meticulously crafted, but also structurally sound with long-term performance in mind.
Raj earned his master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and is a registered Professional Engineer as well as a LEED Accredited Professional.

At Green Valley, Raj oversees overall operations and ensures that the company’s direction aligns with its mission and core values through thoughtful strategy and planning. His primary goal is to foster efficiency and innovation while prioritizing quality growth. With over 20 years of experience in accounting, Kabita has built a strong reputation in the financial sector. After nearly a decade in various accounting roles, she co-founded Green Valley Custom Builders in 2013 with her husband, Raj Tamang, to create high-end luxury homes in Northern Virginia. Over the past decade, she has successfully managed financial operations for numerous high-profile real estate and construction projects.
Kabita holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Strayer University, which enhances her expertise in financial management and strategic planning. She is also passionate about mentoring the next generation of finance professionals and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.

Nimo brings over 42 years of professional design experience, including more than 30 years owning, managing, and operating an architectural-engineering firm specializing in structural design. He has led the design and management of an extensive range of high-end projects, including custom luxury residences, schools, churches, office buildings, and multi-million-dollar mixed-use developments. His experience in real estate investment provides him with a practical understanding of project feasibility, constructability, and long-term value. Nimo also provides expert consulting services, including expert witness work, coordination with government agencies, developers, investors, and contractors, and close collaboration with architects and project teams. He conducts thorough site inspections during construction to ensure that design intent, structural integrity, and superior quality standards are fully achieved.
At Green Valley, Nimo leads business development for the luxury residential market, driving the company’s growth and enhancing its reputation for exceptional design and construction. He works directly with elite local real estate professionals, high-net-worth clients, and internal teams to shape design direction, refine project execution, and ensure that every home meets the highest standards of craftsmanship, materials, and architectural precision. Nimo enforces project timelines, monitors quality, and ensures client requirements are met at every stage. He maintains strong, ongoing relationships with homeowners after project completion, addressing warranty and service needs and ensuring that Green Valley’s projects deliver enduring value and performance.
With over 25 years of experience building luxury custom homes in Northern Virginia, Fredy brings a wealth of expertise and a deep understanding of the construction industry to the table. Having grown up in a family deep rooted in construction, Fredy’s passion for building developed early, shaping his commitment to the craft. He holds an engineering degree from the University of Santiago Antunez de Mayolo, Peru, and has honed his design skills with over four years of experience at Chief Architect Academy, further expanding his knowledge base.
Fredy is dedicated to delivering excellence in every project, maintaining the highest standards of quality control, timely delivery, and cost efficiency. His collaborative approach ensures smooth coordination among all trades involved. Fredy places a strong emphasis on teamwork, recognizing that solid relationships and clear communication are essential to advancing the company’s mission of efficiency and integrity.
At Green Valley, Fredy leads the construction department, overseeing the daily operations of multiple high-end luxury home projects simultaneously. His leadership ensures that each project is delivered with precision and attention to detail. In 2024 and 2025, Fredy led the construction of two separate luxury homes in McLean, VA, each of which won the prestigious NVBIA Award for “Best Design and Architecture Detached Home in the $3M to $5M category.” His forward-thinking approach and commitment to innovation continue to drive Green Valley’s success in the luxury home market.
Josh brings experience across luxury real estate, investment, construction, and hospitality. As a real estate investor, he has built and managed a portfolio of luxury properties, completed more than 30 residential renovations, and developed new-construction spec homes in the DC metro area. His experience spans acquisition, strategic repositioning, multimillion-dollar renovations, new-home building, permitting, project management, and business development. Working closely with contractors, designers, vendors, and real estate professionals, Josh has managed budgets, schedules, procurement, and quality control. His background as both a builder and investor gives him a practical understanding of what luxury buyers value.
At Green Valley Custom Builders, Josh serves as Director of Sales and Hospitality, where he leads growth for the company’s luxury custom home business and oversees the client experience from initial engagement through completion. Josh works directly with homeowners, real estate professionals, and strategic partners to identify opportunities and understand client goals. He remains engaged with homeowners after Green Valley completes new homes, helping coordinate warranty and service needs while ensuring each client interaction reflects Green Valley’s standards for craftsmanship, responsiveness, and personalized service.
Originally from New Jersey, Jewell expressed a passion for architecture and design from an early age. Excelling in art and architecture classes, she later pursued her Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. She now has over 20 years of collective design experience in the three major metro areas on the East Coast. From private residential designers in the New York Metro area, to college co-ops in Boston, MA, and then into the world of retail furniture at Ethan Allen and Belfort Furniture in Virginia, her design palette and understanding of the industry is diverse—and always changing! Having worked for a custom commercial millwork company, the importance of details has never faltered when making the transition to single-family homes. At Green Valley, Jewell oversees the selection process from conception to completion; not only specifying finishes, but breathing new life into spaces.
Jewell’s goal is to learn something new everyday. “Greatness is a choice.” is her personal mantra. It resonates in her dedication to her work and family life.
With an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Virginia International University, Sonika brings eight years of experience in accounting to the table. She is presently working towards a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Washington University of Virginia. Her career has been marked by a commitment to supporting company growth through the provision of clear and reliable financial information.
Guided by the philosophy “Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life,” Sonika finds genuine joy in managing all accounting transactions and working with the team to ensure smooth operations.
At Green Valley, Sonika manages all accounting transactions and collaborates closely with company principals and project managers. She primarily oversees the accounts receivable and payable to ensure timely payments and accurate reporting for various projects. She aims to support the company’s growth by providing clear and reliable financial information.
Tyler has a deep-rooted connection to the construction industry, growing up in a family of builders. His grandfather was an architect in Alexandria, VA, and his father was a general contractor in the same area for 30 years. From a young age, Tyler spent his summers working alongside his father, gaining hands-on experience. After graduating from West Potomac High School, he attended Longwood University before returning to work as a carpenter with his father for 10 years, learning project management and the complexities of the construction industry.
In 2019, Tyler transitioned to project management, earning his Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute. This certification has allowed him to build on his practical knowledge, enhancing his skills in managing construction projects efficiently.
At Green Valley, Tyler manages the day-to-day construction operations of multiple luxury home projects simultaneously, collaborating with design, purchasing, and accounting teams, as well as subcontractors and vendors. He takes pride in building beautiful homes, fostering a positive work environment, and bringing blueprints to life. Always striving to improve processes and enhance efficiency, Tyler ensures the success of each project.
Himal is a dedicated Structural Engineer with a passion for designing innovative and sustainable structures. With a solid foundation in Structural Engineering, earned through a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering from George Mason University, Himal brings a wealth of experience to his work.
Over the past four years, Himal has honed his skills at Green Valley. His expertise extends beyond structural engineering, as evidenced by his two-year tenure as a Civil Project Engineer before landing at Green Valley. This diverse background allows him to approach challenges from a holistic perspective, ensuring that his designs are both structurally sound and functionally efficient.
Fueled by Steve Jobs’s mantra, Himal believes that passion is the cornerstone of great work. This philosophy drives him to approach each project with enthusiasm and dedication, creating structures that not only meet engineering standards but also enrich the lives of those who inhabit them. The achievements he has made have not only contributed to his professional success but have also enriched the lives of his loved ones.
Sandro has over 20 years of experience preparing technical drawings for building and site structures, along with a few years of experience in construction management. He is deeply passionate about his work and strives to go beyond the surface, working closely with architects and engineers to fully understand the design principles and their practical applications. Sandro believes in doing things right the first time, recognizing that mistakes made in haste or due to inattention can be costly in the long run.
He completed an Associate Degree in Architecture in Bolivia and, after moving to the United States, furthered his education by obtaining a Diploma in Architectural Design and Drafting from the Maryland Drafting Institute.
At Green Valley, Sandro is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings while collaborating closely with the architects and engineers. These drawings are crucial for the permit approval process and serve as essential blueprints for builders during construction.
Luis brings over 18 years of experience in architectural design and collaboration on residential and commercial projects, including medical facilities, schools, office buildings, and law enforcement buildings. He has worked closely with renowned regional architects and designers, gaining valuable insights into the industry.
Luis completed an architectural program at Hampton University and enjoys volunteering for community support activities organized by his church in his free time.
At Green Valley, Luis oversees the architectural design division, focusing on high-end luxury single-family residences aligned with market demands. He collaborates with developers and real estate professionals to stay informed about trends and consumer preferences. In 2024, Luis led the design of a 10,000 SF luxury home, built by Green Valley in McLean, VA, which earned the 2024 NVBIA award for “Best Design and Architecture Detached Home” in the $3MM to $5MM category.
